Our theme for the New Year 5785 is Tikkun Olam-repairing our world one deed/project of loving kindness at a time. Tikkun Olam has been an important motivator for our congregation as demonstrated by the many successful efforts that make us proud.
This year, we decided to make it the central engine for our community work where we can find the way to promote a more perfect world. We already have the bookbags for foster kids project underway, with the guiding hand of Robin Egdish. The High Holy Days food drive will be completed by the end of Yom Kippur. The next project will be the Empty Bowls Naples private painting party, followed by the collection and donation of clothing items. So much more is ahead! We are deeply proud of the program and invite new members to join us.
Tikkun Olam is and has consistently been a core concept for Naples Jewish Congregation, which we all endorse through ideas, word and action. It clearly shows that each member has an active hand in improving our own existence as well as the rest of the work and future generations.
